"I don't know how to put this, but I'm kind of a big deal."
Orange was once a serious investigative journalist. When he was captured by Grave, Orange was pursuing information about the potential resurgence of Black SHIELD-like activity in world affairs. His mind was destroyed by Leonard Regal, and was remade into a blatant parody of the truth-seeking mud-raker. Orange hosts Z!TV's news-comedy show, The Orange Detail. At least, The Orange Detail is marketed as a news-comedy show. Orange appears to take the news very seriously, never breaking "character" as a radical journalist interested in getting to the bottom of what's going on in world affairs. Orange's hilarious take on the current news and outré interviews with public figures have made him essential viewing for the youth demographic of the world, and increasingly threatens to make him an important figure in world affairs. Outside of his news program, Orange continues to affect the demeanor that has made him so popular; earnest, well-meaning but hopelessly deluded about the real nature of world politics. Orange tends to see the best in his fellow Z!TV employees and somehow transforms most criticisms or insults into compliments. Despite being a crusader for something like justice, Orange is relentlessly optimistic and believes himself to be an erudite and learned philosopher-poet though his cultural tastes are more or less dictated by what Phoenix Communications tells him to like.
