"Using a machine is fine, but there must be a man behind it!"
The descendent of twenty generations of Strider, Yosho Roshi was blooded as a warrior in the Chinese Revolution, fighting a good war in a bad time. He personally trained an entire generation of Striders, including Kain and Matic. A traditionalist and dogmatist, he would never have joined Kain in the first Strider uprising, had it not been for the death of his son, Nikorasu, on a Yakuza-sponsered suicide mission against the Mavericks. Despite being in his eighties, he was a deadly warrior, although he often used his age to get foes to underestimate him. He eventually opposed Sheena's unification of the Striders and began the Black Dragons, continuing to influence the lives of young Striders until his death at the hands of Hien in a dishonorable assassination. In his life, he was a thorn in the side of Meio and his ideas about social Darwinism, preferring to live in harmony with the people and creatures of Earth. His one greatest regret was that he never got to pass his Cipher down to his son - this Cipher's present location is unknown.
